Here's a cool trick to try with one of our tandem rigs, like a Lil' Speck Killer or Double Shad rig. Cut off the bottom jighead and replace it with a heavier one, like a 1/4- or 3/8-ounce head, and then add a larger bait, like a Killer Flats Minnow, BIG MINO or Trout Killer to the new jighead so that the larger bait trails the smaller one.

When you retrieve this rig through the water it gives the appearance of a small fish chasing its next meal. A gamefish's natural predatory instinct won't let them sit by and watch as something else beats them to a snack - this rig will drive them wild! It's a great way to get a reaction strike out of lethargic, cold-water speckled trout, too. Give it a try next time you hit the salt.
